Ashley Kay was born in Nevada, MO and grew up in Deerfield, MO until going off to college. She attended Butler County Community College in El Dorado, KS for her Associate of Arts degree, then transferred to the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, MO for her Bachelor in Fine Arts degree in Musical Theatre. She has performed at Worlds of Fun for two summers and one season of Haunt, before being hired to perform at Club Med Resorts.
Ashley first started as a dancer and choreographer for Club Med in Turks and Caicos and Thailand, before transitioning to the circus team for Japan, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic, where she taught guests to fly on the trapeze and performed in circus shows, as well as continued to sing and dance in other shows.
Post-pandemic, Ashley Kay decided to earn her Master of Arts in Teaching Vocal and Instrumental Music from Missouri State University, while also earning her Certifications in Directing, Theatre for Social Change, and Educational Theatre from Missouri Southern State University. During this time, she was training in stunt work with her mentor Erick Wolfe and earned her level one certification in unarmed, dagger, broadsword, rapier, and quarterstaff through the British Academy of Dramatic Combat.
At the end of 2022, Ashley moved to Kansas City, as cancer revealed itself earlier that year. She was referred to KU’s Bone Marrow Transplant center. She had a successful transplant at the beginning of 2023 and is finishing up her 2 year of long term care; she is thankful and grateful everything has been going well during her recovery, as she hits the ground running towards her dreams and aspirations of being an actress for film.
Ashley Kay is an actress, an actress who can do her own stunts or action, a stunt performer, a stunt double, a dancer, singer, pianist, and musician. She is currently a member of Ronin Stunt Company here in Kansas City. When she is not able to be in front of the camera, she enjoys being an Intimacy Professional, both an Intimacy Coordinator for film and Intimacy Director for stage, to advocate and support both talent and production members during scenes that require intimate moments. Ashley has learned and earned certification through Theatrical Intimacy Education and Intimacy Directors and Coordinators. While she prefers to be cast in roles, being an intimacy professional is another way she has enjoyed connecting to productions and the people involved.
Always willing to travel for work, just as much as she is content to stay in the area for work as she continues to recover from her transplant, Ashley is ready for all possibilities. She has a valid passport and drivers license.
